MSY Season All
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) opened in 1944 as Moisant Field, named after aviator John Moisant, and was later renamed to honor jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Originally serving as a small regional airport, MSY grew steadily as New Orleans became a major tourism and business hub. After decades of expansion and modernization, the airport opened a new, state-of-the-art terminal in 2019, replacing the original facilities and positioning MSY as a modern gateway to the Gulf South while reflecting the city’s culture, music, and hospitality.
