Originally developed as mostly residential, the Central Business District (CBD) is a dynamic, mixed-use neighborhood, home of professional offices in skyscrapers, specialty and neighborhood retail stores, numerous restaurants and clubs, and thousands of residents inhabiting restored, historic commercial and industrial buildings. This historic neighborhood is also home to notable structures that include the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the National World War II Museum.
